They weren’t just part of your life. They were part of your routines, your home, your comfort, and often some of your hardest and happiest moments. When they’re gone, you don’t only grieve their life—you grieve the thousand little places they occupied in yours.
Pet grief is real grief. There is no timeline for it, and you don’t have to minimize your loss because someone else doesn’t understand the depth of the bond.
This space was created to help you understand what you’re feeling, work through the guilt and difficult moments, honor the love you shared, and find support as you learn to carry that love forward. 🩷
Your grief is valid. Your bond mattered. Your love still does.
Pet grief has always been deeply personal to me. In fact, my journey creating mental health content on TikTok began with a desire to bring more awareness to pet loss and the kind of grief that so often goes unseen or misunderstood. As a therapist, I’ve seen how often pet grief is minimized, overlooked, or not given the same space as other forms of loss. As a human, I’ve experienced firsthand just how devastating that grief can be.
Losing a pet isn’t “just” losing an animal. We lose a companion woven into our routines, our homes, our memories, and sometimes the parts of our lives no one else fully witnessed. Yet people grieving a pet are often expected to move on long before their hearts are ready.
That’s something I want BroknOpen to help change.
This collection was created to give pet grief the space it deserves—with education, validation, practical tools, and connections to support for the moments when carrying the loss alone feels especially heavy. Because the relationship was real. The love was real. And the grief is real, too. 🩷

Grief doesn’t have an expiration date, and neither does love. Take what you need from these resources, leave what you don’t, and give yourself permission to grieve in your own way.
Your loss matters here. And so does the love behind it. 🩷
